Scott Clawson
Chief Executive Officer

Scott Clawson

Scott Clawson joined GSI Group, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007. Clawson has experience in strategy/business development, managing international operations, dealer/distributor networks, marketing and sales, manufacturing/supply chain, and lean manufacturing. Clawson strongly espoused “lean manufacturing,” which has also been introduced to GSI’s global manufacturing plants to fine tune GSI’s international growth strategy.

Previously, Clawson served as CEO of Ryko Enterprises, the largest vehicle wash system manufacturer in North America and second largest worldwide. During his time at Ryko, Clawson led the transformation of the company into a growth-oriented, market-focused organization by strengthening the distribution, sales, and marketing team and implementing lean manufacturing. From 1998 to 2003, Clawson held various roles at Danaher Corporation including Vice President of Business Development and Group Development Manager. From 2001 to 2003, Clawson was president of Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a $700M+ global leader in petroleum equipment and services.

Clawson graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.


Michael Held
Chief Financial Officer

Mike Held

Michael Held has been the Chief Financial Officer at GSI since 2010. He brings over three decades of experience in manufacturing and industry to the Management Team.

He has previously served as Vice President of Finance at Chromally where he had financial responsibility for $1 billion revenue generated through approximately 30 reporting companies in North America, Europe, and Asia. Prior to that, Held had acted as Group Vice President Finance at Danaher, VP/GM and Group Controller at Curtiss Wright Flight Systems, and Director Finance and Business Systems at Allied Signal.

He holds an MBA from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad Graduate School of Management.


Steve Henry
President, Global Grain Division

Steve Henry

Steve Henry joined GSI Group, Inc. in 2009 and has global responsibility for the sales and marketing activities in the Grain Division. Henry is a senior sales and marketing manager with 28 years experience with major corporations. He temporarily retired from corporate life in 2006 to run his own company and write a book on selling. When in corporate life he ran large teams and also had extensive international experience, including living in Japan for 2 years.

Steve previously held the following positions: Danaher/ Veeder Root - VP Sales and Support, 2000–2006; Xycom Computer Ann Arbor Michigan - VP Sales, 1998–2000; Rockwell Automation/ Allen Bradley—various positions from 1978–1998.


Allen Deutsch
President, Global Protein Division

Al Deutsch

Al Deutsch joined the GSI Group in January of 1993 with the acquisition of AAA Associates. He oversees the global sales and marketing efforts of the Protein Division worldwide with the exception of Brazil. This includes strategic development, operation and execution, budgeting, and P&L responsibility. Other accomplishments include leading numerous key market entries worldwide, leading and integrating five acquisitions, the sale of three non-core assets and numerous strategic supply, marketing, and JV agreements worldwide.

Prior to joining GSI, Deutsch held similar positions at AAA Associates and Lester’s of Minnesota, both capital equipment suppliers to the protein chain. Deutsch holds several key industry BOD’s positions and numerous appointments such as the 2012 US Farm Bill Taskforce. He serves on the boards of three of the company’s foreign entities and is a 36 year protein industry veteran.


Jared Knudson
President, GSI North America

Jared Knudson

Jared Knudson has served as President, GSI North America since January, 2012. Reporting to the CEO, Knudson is responsible for the North American operating entity which includes driving strategy, operations & supply chain, engineering as well as matrixed NA sales and marketing team. Previously, Knudson has served as VP of Business Development and Optimization, Product Manager for grain storage and a Business Analyst for GSI.

Prior to joining GSI, Knudson served in various business development and analysis roles at Tate and Lyle and INVISTA (Koch Industries). Knudson began his career at Ford Motor Company as a Finance Manager within Lincoln Product Development.

Knudson earned his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his Master of Business Administration from the Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame.


Sidney Del Gaudio
President, Latin America

Sidney Del Gaudio

Sidney Del Gaudio joined GSI Group, Inc. as President Latin America in July 2010. He carries over 35 years of expertise in the Automotive Industry with international and domestic experience leading auto-parts manufacturers in the USA, Europe and South America. Sidney draws upon a broad knowledge base to drive company-wide efficiencies through his background in Lean Methodologies, Plant Management, Sales and Marketing as well as M&A activities.

Previously, Sidney served as President and CEO of Meritor Suspension System Inc., a global J/V with Rockwell and Mitsubishi Steel. Prior to that, Del Gaudio acted as Vice President and General Manager of ArvinMeritor and as Vice President and General Manager of Dana Corporation. Also for three years, he temporarily retired from corporate life to run his own company which was sold to a Global Auto part Group. Sidney also served as Board member of two overseas companies in India and Japan.

He holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Escola Superior de Quimica in Brazil and SEP from Stanford University.
